Happy New Year!

Is anybody doing anything for the new year? Any new year's resolutions? I am about to be forced on a diet by my own parents. Has anybody done any fireworks? I'm going to a dance. I hope I have fun! What were y'all's experiences like at dances?

Thanksgiving

What is Thanksgiving? What does it mean to you?
Well Wikipedia says it's "a traditional North American holiday to give thanks at the conclusion of the harvest season. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in the United States and on the second Monday of October in Canada."
Very cut and dry, but what is it really?
Right now to me, it means when I have to have finished a colossal project that is due right after that weekend. For Mom it means other school assignments.

My Saturday

Yes, Mom was very nice and finally took me to the fair on Saturday. The Gamecocks(mascot of University of South Carolina) had a game against Vanderbilt. So around the fair, parking was PACKED. Sadly, USC lost 17-6. But what happened was I had a soccer game.(We tied 0-0) After the game it was about noon. We rushed home and I washed up a bit and put some clean clothes on Then Dad drove us and dropped Mom and me off. We walked through Gamecock fans to the fair. While we were walking Mom said she realized I really wanted to go because last night when she got home she found I had done my chores. Eventually we got in.

We did not go at night, but for those who have never gone, the SC State Fair is huge. It's like a theme park. But I had so much fun. I went on a ton of rides and I didn't have to wait that long either. It was great. Food was wonderful too. So, my mom and I both agree that the best time to come is during a USC football game. We could actually tell when the game ended because a flood of garnet came through the fair.
Well, Mom and I both realized at about the same time, we were ready to go home. So, we called up Dad. Dad said he was on his way. So we went to the exit and got our hands stamped. Then we started to walk. And walk. And walk...
I hadn't been so happy to see Dad as I was when he drove up. And it felt so good to sit down.
When I got home, I realized the sun had marked me and I was sun burnt. See for yourself:
Mom found some democratic stuff too! Miracles!

Fever Pitch

This is a great movie. Robby had seen it before and recommended it. I do also. Dad and I enjoyed watching it. Even if you don't like baseball, you'll probably like this movie. Enjoy!

This is a kind of depressing drama. It's a great movie. But anyway, we were wondering if we should watch it. And Mom said, "Oh. It'll be okay." Anytime Mom says it's "okay," run as fast as you can. I guess I didn't learn my lesson with Pilates. But, it's still a very good movie. I know that at least three of the five main characters are Mormon. I hope y'all enjoy it as much as we did.

Before and After

The name of my blog site is zarasowner.blogspot.com. I'm sure you might have been wanting to know what Zara looks like. Here she is(she's the black one). We like to joke at how fuzzy they get before they go to the groomer. And then are surprised at how different they look afterwards. Take a look for yourself:

Ta-dah! Now they look like froofy poodles. I hope you like the pictures!

Lake Murray

On Wednesday, I was lucky enough to go to a party on the lake. I was at a team member's grandmother's house. What happened was this: After a long run, all of us that were going(it was a reward for summer running) piled ourselves and our stuff into a car. Then we drove to the lake house. We got settled, then all of us went swimming with a noodle. We all basically stayed out on the lake all day. I put sunscreen on, but obviously not enough. To say the least, I got burnt on my face and shoulders. My face is fine, but don't be surprised if I'm not very excited about a hug. A lot of the people on the team were worried about how burnt I got, but I assured them I was fine. In the evening, a girl's parents took us out on a boat for a sunset swim. It was great. We watched a movie on TV. There wasn't any hot water for showers, which felt good on my sunburn. I had a great night's sleep, but I still took a nap today to recover. I'm glad I was able to go. Bye!

My First One

This is my first post. I've seen my sisters' posts and decided I wanted one too. I don't know if I'll be as funny as Katy, but I hope you enjoy it.
